Posting a message

If you would like to start a new thread, go to the appropriate subforum and click NEW>DISCUSSION

You will get a new popup window in in this space you will need to put in a subject and then the text.  Below is part of the window that shows all of the tools you can use

The toolbar across the top has many options. In order from left to right:

 • Add a greamlin
 • Use different colors for your text
 • Add a link to another site or page
 • Make your text bold
 • Make your text italicized
 • Put a line through text
 • Quote something
 • Make alist
 • Give an email address
 • Add a picture that is already online
 • Add a code (we normally do not use this)

You can also click Add Attachment and this will open a little window for you to add something from your computer.  You will need to browse your computer to find it.

If you would like to get a notification if someone replies then click notifications and set it to ON.

If you would like your signature to be added to your post, make sure the Signature box is checked.

Once you have completed your post, click POST NOW

Replying to a message

To reply, you have a few choices.  If it is just a straight reply where you do not need to add any extras, you can click the yellow arrow in the top toolbar or at the bottom of the thread (here are the two graphics)

If you would like to add extras, then click the blue arrows (again at the top or at the bottom.

Quoting

To quote, the easiest way is to click the folder icon with quotes in the post you want to quote.

By doing this, the name of the person being quoted will show up. Once you have the reply window open, you can remove any extra lines that you do not want to quote (remember, quotes should be short and to the point, long quotes will be edited)

You can also copy the text from a post (Control C with Windows) and then click reply (either blue or yellow) and the quoted part will be inserted between the quote code.  The only problem with this is that the original poster's name will not show up.

The last way is to click the quote button of the reply window toolbar (see above).  This will give you the code which is
(this is the open tag) and
(this is the closing tag) and then all you have to do is copy and paste what you want to quote between the open and closing tags.
